Target Audience:
New Marketo users who are comfortable building a basic email and ready to start targeting, testing, and structuring more intentional campaigns.
In this session, you’ll take what you’ve learned so far and apply it to a real use case: launching a product announcement. This builds on Core Concepts I by introducing more practical ways to use automation, targeting, and testing in your programs.
What we’ll cover:
Product announcements in Marketo
One-time sends vs. repeatable campaign setups
Campaign program setup
Channels, statuses, and keeping programs organized
Targeting with Smart Lists
Using filters vs. manual lists and avoiding over-targeting
Intro to A/B testing
What to test as a beginner (and what to skip for now)
Success metrics
Opens vs. clicks and how to think about performance
Hands-on homework (optional):
Clone your newsletter program, turn it into a product announcement, run a simple subject line A/B test, and review which version performs better.
